Hershey&#039;s Kiss Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1-1/2 cups shortening
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking powder
36 Hersey Kisses or extra large chocolate chips (or mini peanut butter cups)

Cream together sugars, shortening, and peanut butter. Stir in eggs. Sift together dry ingredients. Work together all ingredients untill thoroughly blended. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll in granulated sugar to coat. Place balls on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 9-10 minutes, until they spread out and just begin to brown.
Remove cookies from oven and press a Hershey&#039;s Kiss gently into the centre of each cookie. Return to oven and bake for another 2 to 5 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for 5-10 minutes before removing from the cookie sheet. Makes 3 dozen.</description>
